How to listen to your own book on a walk

To listen to your own book on a walk, open the right passage, choose a voice, and press Play before leaving. Test the headphones you plan to use. If your connection may be unreliable, save prepared sections offline. Finish the main adjustments while you can comfortably see and use the player.

Choose a useful starting point

Open the book and check that you are continuing the intended chapter. If you last listened on another device, use the same Telegram account: your position is stored in your profile. Play a short passage before leaving to confirm that you recognise the point where you are resuming.

For example, a chapter boundary may suit a short walk better than the middle of a detailed explanation. You do not need to split or upload the book again. Changes to the text itself require external preparation; TGRadio has no built-in editor.

Adjust the sound using a familiar passage

Compare available voices on a short passage you already understand. Pick the one you find comfortable. There is no required listening speed for walking: start with your usual setting and adjust it if words are hard to follow or the pace feels too slow.

Voice and playback speed are separate settings. A different voice or model requires another audio version; changing playback speed does not. Choose the voice before leaving and remember to press Play after import. Uploading the file alone does not prepare the entire audiobook.

Test pause and screen locking

Start playback, pause in the player, and resume. Then lock the screen and check what happens on your phone and browser. Background playback is not guaranteed in every browser, so test your own setup before going outside.

If locking the screen stops the sound, account for that when deciding how to listen. Stop somewhere suitable before opening the player to make adjustments. Pause explicitly before a conversation or another situation needing your attention, so you do not have to find a missed passage afterwards.

Prepare for a weak connection

If your route has poor reception, use Save chapter offline for the chapter you need while connected. The button generates and saves missing audio without requiring prior playback. Wait for completion, then disconnect and test it through Offline library on the same device. Check the actual material you intend to hear, rather than only confirming that the book appears in a list.

Importing a book does not generate audio. Play prepares sections for online listening, while Save chapter offline and Save book offline generate, download, and save missing fragments while connected. If saving stops because of an error or cancellation, saved parts remain, but later sections may be missing. Finish saving what you need before leaving and test it without a connection.

Keep a clear place to resume

Pause in the player at the end of your walk. Next time, check the saved position before choosing another chapter. On a different device, use the same profile; offline listening there also requires saving audio on that device beforehand.

Avoid clearing browser storage or signing out while you need local recordings, because these actions remove saved audio. An interrupted walk does not require importing the book again. Open the existing entry and check a short passage at your stopping point.
