How to start listening to your own ebook: the first session
To start listening to your own ebook in TGRadio, add a file in Books, open the book, choose a voice and press Play. The app then prepares the first audio fragment; you do not need to wait for the whole book. Check that the text was imported correctly, the voice suits you and your stopping point is saved.
Choose a file you can check easily
For your first attempt, choose a familiar book that you have the right to use. TGRadio accepts EPUB, FB2, TXT, and PDFs with a text layer. The file must be no larger than 10 MB, and the extracted book text must not exceed 2 million characters. A familiar opening makes missing passages or unexpected text easier to spot.
Open the original before uploading. If letters appear as garbled characters, fix the file in an external editor first. TGRadio has no built-in text editor. For a PDF, try selecting and copying a few lines: the service cannot recognise a scan that has no text layer.
Add the book to your profile
Open Books and sign in through Telegram. In a browser, confirm the login in the bot after checking that the codes match. You do not give TGRadio your Telegram password. Select Upload a book and choose your prepared file. A personal upload is not automatically published in the shared catalogue.
If you have a publicly accessible file link, you can use Import URL. A local file is useful for this first check because you already know what it contains. Pages requiring a login and protected downloads may fail to import.
Separate importing from audio preparation
Importing extracts text from the file. Pressing Play starts preparing audio from fragments of that text. A book appearing in your library therefore does not mean all its audio is ready. The first prepared fragment plays first; further sections are prepared as you listen.
Open the added book and check its beginning. As a hypothetical example, your file might contain a long preface before chapter one. Hearing that preface first does not, by itself, indicate an import error. Compare the spoken opening with the order of the original text.
Listen to the opening before settling in
Choose the chapter you want and press Play and listen to a few paragraphs. Check that you recognise the text and find the voice comfortable. If words appear out of order or page numbers interrupt sentences, inspect the source file. Changing the voice does not repair extracted text.
You can adjust playback speed without preparing new audio. Selecting a different voice requires a new audio version. Change one setting at a time during your first attempt so you can tell which adjustment helped.
Check that you can resume
Stop at a convenient point and remember the last phrase. Your position is saved in your profile. When you return, compare the resumed passage with that phrase. On another device, sign in with the same Telegram account to use the same profile.
Keep the player open during this first check: background playback is not guaranteed in every browser. If playback stops when the screen locks, try listening with the page open. Your saved position and the availability of subsequent audio fragments are separate requirements for continuing.
