Why EPUB chapter titles appear as numbers
If EPUB chapter titles appear as numbers, compare the contents list with the headings inside the chapters themselves. TGRadio may take names from internal HTML documents, so a contents label can differ from the imported result. Correct source headings outside TGRadio; the app has no chapter-title editor.
Check whether the chapter text is present
Open a numbered chapter and compare its beginning with the source book. A missing title in the chapter list does not establish that the main text is missing. Check the opening sentences, the next paragraph, and the transition to the following chapter. This separates a naming issue from missing or misplaced content.
For example, the source contents list says The Night Crossing, while TGRadio shows a number. If the opening paragraphs describe that crossing in the correct sequence, investigate the heading first. There is no reason to rearrange documents solely to restore a familiar label.
Compare the contents label with the page heading
Open the EPUB in a reader and follow the named contents entry. Look directly above the first paragraph: does it show the full title, a number, or nothing? Contents link text is stored separately and can be more descriptive than the heading inside the document.
Repeat this check for several chapters. If full titles appear only in the contents panel, you have identified a visible difference in the source. If titles appear on the pages too, inspect their underlying structure, since appearance alone does not show how a heading is encoded.
Locate the heading in the internal HTML
Open a copy in an EPUB editor outside TGRadio and find the chapter's internal document. Check whether its title is a text heading in the HTML. Large lettering may be an ordinary styled paragraph, while a title inside an image is not an extractable text heading.
Identify the document by its opening sentences. A contents entry does not necessarily correspond to a separate internal file. Do not add a title to a document merely because its filename looks suitable.
Prepare the source titles
If you can edit the book, use the EPUB editor to format the intended title as a text heading. Take its wording from the checked source rather than inventing a title from the number. Save a separate revised copy and inspect it in a reader, including its contents links.
Search for an existing title before adding another. Correcting its formatting can avoid duplicate text being extracted and spoken. If you cannot edit the supplied book, request another correctly structured version from its source.
Check the labels after importing again
Import the revised copy into TGRadio and compare titles near the beginning, middle, and end. Changing a file on your device does not update an existing import. If numeric labels remain, investigate the source structure further; changing voices does not affect heading extraction.
You can listen with numbered labels if the content and sequence are correct. Select a voice and press Play to begin. If you need descriptive titles for frequent navigation, finish checking the revised version before continuing with extended listening.
