Book narration in parts: do you need to wait for the whole book?

You do not need to wait for the entire book to be narrated. TGRadio lets you listen from the first ready segment, while later segments are prepared as you listen. Import the text, choose the book and voice, then press Play. Importing alone does not start audio preparation, and preparation times are not guaranteed.

Press Play to start preparing audio

Importing adds a book and its extracted text to your library. That does not mean an audio version is already ready. Open the book, check your selected voice, and press Play. The first segment needs to be prepared before it can play.

If you uploaded a file and simply left the library open, do not assume narration has started. For example, adding a novel before leaving home does not by itself prepare it for your journey. Starting playback requires an action in the player and an internet connection.

Distinguish a chapter from an audio segment

A chapter belongs to the book’s structure. An audio segment is a portion prepared for playback. Hearing the opening does not confirm that the entire chapter, or the chapters after it, is ready. When planning offline listening, check what has actually been prepared and saved.

For example, you might hear the beginning of a long chapter and then disconnect. Its continuation may still need preparation or may not be stored on your device. Opening a book in the player once does not make the whole text available for offline listening.

Allow for a wait before later segments

Later audio segments are prepared as you listen. Reaching a segment that is not ready can therefore involve a wait. Do not assume every transition will take the same time or schedule the start of a particular passage to the second.

If the next passage does not play, first check your internet connection: preparing new segments requires access to the network. Then check that playback is started. A book’s presence in your library does not confirm audio readiness. Avoid changing several settings at once while trying to identify the cause.

Change playback speed without changing the voice

Choosing another voice or model requires a different audio version to be prepared. If you only want a faster pace, adjust playback speed instead. Changing playback speed does not require new narration.

For example, listen to the opening with your chosen voice before settling into a longer session. This gives you a chance to check whether its sound suits the book. Repeat listening and preparation with another voice are currently free, with no monthly character limit. Preparing new segments can still involve waiting.

Check saved content before disconnecting

For a journey, use Save chapter offline or Save book offline, then check the result in the Offline library on the same device. Only audio that has actually been prepared and saved will be available. Pressing a save button is not confirmation that the entire book is already stored.

Your listening position is saved in your profile and is available on another device using the same Telegram account. Local audio does not automatically move with it. If you plan to use a different phone, check offline availability on that phone before leaving. A shared position and saved audio serve different purposes.
