Why PDF read-aloud skips pages and how to check

If PDF read-aloud seems to skip pages, check whether those pages contain extractable text and whether playback has reached the relevant part. A single PDF can mix text pages and scans. TGRadio has no OCR and prepares later audio fragments during listening, so unavailable audio alone does not establish that text is missing.

Locate the exact gap

Write down the last sentence before the suspected omission and the first sentence after it. Find both in the original PDF and inspect the material between them. A viewer’s page counter may differ from printed page numbers because of covers and introductory pages. For example, printed page 20 might be the file’s twenty-fourth page. Match the content and neighboring sentences instead of relying on a page number alone.

Test copying in several parts of the PDF

Try selecting a paragraph on the problem page and pasting it into a separate text document. Repeat the test near the beginning, middle, and end of the PDF. If some pages yield text while others are only images, the file may contain mixed page types. A text layer in the first chapter does not establish one throughout the book. Test the pages immediately before and after the suspected gap, too.

Check what the text layer actually contains

Being able to select an area does not guarantee useful text. Inspect what appears in your document: complete sentences, fragments, incorrect characters, or only an image caption. For example, a page heading may copy successfully while the body remains a scanned image. TGRadio extracts available text and does not reconstruct missing paragraphs from pictures. Changing the voice or importing the same copy again does not add a text layer.

Prepare missing text outside the app

For image-only pages, find another copy you have the right to use or prepare recognized text with an external tool. That recognition happens outside TGRadio. Compare the result with the page images, checking headings, opening and closing lines, paragraph order, and numbers. Simply saving a scan with a TXT extension does not recognize its contents. Give the corrected copy a distinct filename so you can identify the version during upload.

Separate extraction gaps from unfinished audio

If later audio is simply unavailable, select the book and press Play for online listening. Import does not automatically narrate the entire book. For offline listening, use Save chapter offline or Save book offline: with a working connection, the button generates missing fragments, downloads them and saves them. Wait for completion. Missing later chapters without a connection therefore does not, by itself, show that their PDF pages were omitted during extraction.

If pages contain normal, copyable text but playback still makes a confirmed jump between your two reference sentences, keep those details for support. Identify the missing passages and distinguish file page numbers from printed numbering. This describes a specific gap; saying only that “half the book loaded” does not reveal where the problem occurred.
