Book narration: checking the preface and appendices
Before listening to a book’s preface and appendices, compare the imported contents with your edition’s table of contents. Locate the main text and any supplementary sections you want. TGRadio extracts structure from the file, but does not promise to remove all front matter or divide every edition in the same way.
Make a short inventory of sections
Open the original book outside TGRadio and note its main parts in order: preface, main text, afterword, and appendices. Mark which you want now and which can wait. The work’s title alone is insufficient because editions can include different introductory essays and commentary.
For example, a novel might begin with a scholarly introduction and end with the author’s letters. To listen to the novel continuously, locate its first chapter. To explore the whole edition, you may want both additions.
Account for the source format
In EPUB, reading order follows the spine and headings come from internal HTML documents. For FB2, TGRadio uses top-level sections of the main body and excludes notes and comments sections. Notes present in the original file therefore may not appear as separately available listening material.
TXT recognises standalone chapter or part headings with a number or title. An Appendix heading alone does not guarantee a separate chapter. PDF is processed page by page, so page boundaries may differ from meaningful section boundaries.
Locate the beginning you actually want
Compare the available chapters with your inventory. If the section you want appears separately, select it and press Play. You can listen once the first fragment is ready; the whole book need not be prepared first. Later fragments are prepared as you listen.
Compare the opening sentences with the source. A heading may be generic, such as Text, or belong to an introductory essay. If the preface and main work share one part, do not expect TGRadio to identify and skip the introduction automatically.
Investigate missing or repeated sections
If an appendix seems absent, first check whether it exists in the uploaded file. A table of contents can mention material missing from the available text. Importing a web page also does not mean following additional chapter links or pagination automatically.
If a heading appears twice, compare the beginning and ending of both parts. This distinguishes repeated text from separate sections with matching names. Image-based appendices will not become complete audio: images, formulas, and scanned text are not recognised.
Prepare a separate version when needed
If you want only the main work and its structure makes selection difficult, prepare a separate copy in an external editor. Use text you have the right to use and retain the original edition. TGRadio has no built-in editor for removing sections or changing headings.
Upload the prepared copy under a distinguishable name, then check its opening and final part again. Personal uploads are not published automatically. Keep the original until you finish checking: an abbreviated copy can accidentally lose an epilogue or a note needed to understand a passage.
