How to resume an audiobook where you left off

To resume an audiobook where you left off, open the same book in the same profile and press Play. TGRadio saves your listening position in your profile. Stop playback before leaving, then check the first few sentences when you return: an unexpected shutdown may prevent the very latest position from being saved.

Stop the player before closing

When you finish listening, stop playback in the player first. Avoid treating a closed tab or a force-quit browser as the stop control. When connected, give the app an opportunity to send the saved position, but do not treat any fixed waiting period as a guarantee.

In a long chapter, remember the last complete thought. For example, “the character received a letter and left the house” is easier to recognise than a vague estimate of elapsed time. You can write that reference down outside TGRadio if you expect a long break.

Open the right book in your profile

Return to Books and confirm that you are signed in through the same Telegram account. Open the intended book from your library. If you have several similar uploads, compare their titles and content: a corrected document or another edition may be a separate book.

Do not upload the file again just to resume listening. Look for the existing library entry and start that version first. A fresh import should not be treated as a way to recover the previous entry’s position, even when the document title is identical.

Check the continuation against the story

Press Play and listen to the opening sentences. Check whether they sound familiar and whether the chapter matches your reference. A brief repeat can restore context. If playback begins much earlier, stop and locate the intended passage before continuing with a longer session.

For example, if you stopped after a conversation at a station but playback starts before the train arrives, follow the sequence of events. Avoid relying only on elapsed audio time: changing the voice can also change the pace of the prepared narration.

Investigate an unexpected interruption

If sound stopped after you locked the screen or switched apps, reopen TGRadio and inspect the player. Background playback is not guaranteed in every browser. Silence alone does not mean your position has been deleted or that the book needs to be imported again.

After a browser crash, an empty battery or a forced shutdown, start by checking the last recognisable passage. The latest position update may not have been saved. If a connected session pauses while the next audio fragment is being prepared, importing the book again does not solve that waiting period either.

Separate saved progress from available audio

Your position and offline audio availability are separate checks. Your profile can retain your place even when the current device does not have the corresponding audio fragment. For offline listening, save prepared parts in advance and open them through the Offline library.

If the continuation is unavailable without a connection, reconnect, open the book and press Play. Further fragments are prepared as you listen. Before your next break, check both your stopping point and whether the chapter you intend to hear next has been saved.
