Book narration: download an MP3 or listen in the app?
You cannot download a narrated book from TGRadio as an MP3 or M4B file. You can listen in the app and save prepared sections for offline use. The right choice depends on whether you need a separate file for another player or access to the book on your chosen device.
Check where the audio needs to go
If you need to copy a recording to a USB drive, send it to someone else, or open it on a device that accepts only audio files, you need a standalone file. TGRadio does not provide MP3 or M4B export. Check this requirement before importing a long book and preparing audio for a listening setup that cannot use it.
For example, a car stereo may accept only files on a USB drive. Saving a book inside TGRadio will not create a file you can copy to that drive.
Start playback to begin preparing audio
Importing a book extracts its text; it does not automatically prepare the entire audiobook. Open Books, select the book and a voice, then press Play. Listening can begin with the first ready section. Later sections are prepared as you listen, so a book appearing in your library does not mean all its audio is ready.
Uploading the text and closing the app will not leave the whole book being generated automatically in the background.
Save the available sections before travelling
Save chapter offline and Save book offline store audio locally inside the app. While connected, they generate missing fragments in sequence, download them, and save them; you do not need to prepare chapters separately first. The whole-book button prepares every part if you wait for completion without an error or cancellation and have enough storage. This does not export an MP3 or M4B file.
Before leaving, open the Offline library on the same device and test the part you need without a network connection. Missing sections require internet access for preparation and downloading. This check tells you more than seeing that the original text imported successfully.
Separate your saved position from local audio
Your listening position is saved in your profile. To continue on another device, sign in with the same Telegram account. Offline audio stays on the device where you saved it, however. A shared listening position does not transfer downloaded sections to a second phone or computer.
Clearing browser storage or signing out removes local audio. You will need a connection to save it again. Keep this in mind before signing out on a shared device: a book remaining in your profile does not replace the audio stored locally.
Test your voice and playback setup
Changing the voice requires a new audio version to be prepared. Before listening offline, check that the sections you need are available with your chosen voice. Changing playback speed does not require new narration, so you do not need to prepare another recording just to listen faster or slower.
If you intend to listen with the screen locked, test that behaviour on your device beforehand. Background playback is not guaranteed in every browser. For a separate hardware player, first check whether it supports the way you plan to access the audio.
