How to change audiobook speed without generating new narration
You can change audiobook speed in TGRadio without generating narration again: the player adjusts the pace of existing audio. Available settings are 1, 1.15, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75 and 2. Compare the same passage at neighboring settings while keeping the voice, model and volume unchanged. This requires no new version of the recording.
Start with a passage that is already playing
Open the book and press Play. If this is your first playback with the selected voice and model, audio must first be prepared. Once speech begins, choose a short passage containing complete sentences. Use that passage for your speed test so the content does not change along with the pace and complicate the comparison.
Importing does not prepare a recording of the entire book. It extracts text, while narration starts through Play. Subsequent fragments are prepared as you listen, so one passage being ready does not mean the rest of the book is ready.
Compare two neighboring settings
Listen to your passage at 1, return to its beginning, and try 1.15. If both feel comfortable, try 1.25. There is no need to jump straight to 2. Small changes make it easier to notice which word endings, pauses or dialogue lines become harder to follow. Leave your device volume unchanged.
For example, choose a paragraph containing a name, a number and a long sentence. After each replay, check whether you can clearly make out those particular details without repeatedly going back.
Judge the text rather than a target speed
You may prefer a faster pace for familiar storytelling and a slower pace for unfamiliar terminology. This is a personal choice for the material you are hearing. TGRadio has no required speed for fiction, study or work. Finding one short passage comfortable does not establish that the same setting will suit the entire book.
After your initial comparison, listen to a paragraph with different content at the selected speed. If you frequently return to catch individual words, try the next lower setting and check whether listening becomes more comfortable.
Keep speed separate from voice changes
Playback speed and synthesis settings serve different purposes. Changing speed uses the existing recording. Choosing another male or female voice, or another model, requires new audio to be prepared. If you only want slower speech, use the player setting; you do not need to upload the book again.
A pace adjustment cannot correct misplaced word stress or a missing word. If the error is still audible at 1, inspect the source text or compare another model separately. A difference in how quickly the passage plays does not by itself indicate corrected pronunciation.
Investigate interruptions separately
If faster playback reaches a section that is not ready, waiting for the next fragment does not mean the whole book is being narrated again. Replay a passage you have already heard: changing speed alone does not require a different recording. Preparing and receiving new parts still requires a connection.
To continue on another device, use the same Telegram account, because your position is stored in your profile. Check the speed displayed in the open player before continuing. A shared reading position and locally saved audio serve different purposes; neither means that every device has the same audio available.
