Audiobook in two tabs: why your position gets confusing
If an audiobook is open in two tabs and the positions differ, pause both players, identify your intended place, and keep one session. The book has a shared position in your profile, while an open tab may still display an earlier state. An old window is therefore not reliable evidence of what is happening in another player.
Find every open player
Check browser tabs, separate windows, the Mini App, and any other device where the book might remain open. Using the same Telegram account means using the same profile. A phone player and a computer player can therefore refer to the same shared listening position.
Pause playback wherever it is running. Do not close windows immediately if only one shows the chapter you need. Note its name and approximate position first, so you retain a useful reference after closing the extra sessions.
Understand why an older tab can lag behind
An open tab has its own view of the player state. For example, you paused chapter four on your computer in the morning, then reached chapter six on your phone. The old window may still show chapter four. That display alone does not prove the later position has disappeared.
Position updates belong to a particular version of the playback state. Several sessions trying to change one shared place create a conflict between older and newer states. The appearance of a window cannot reliably tell you the outcome; reopen the book and check the content.
Choose the place you actually want
Your intended position is not always the furthest point reached. You may have deliberately returned to a difficult chapter while another tab remains closer to the end. Decide where you want to continue before trying to bring the sessions into agreement.
Compare the chapter and a familiar passage as well as the time. Timestamps inside different chapters are not one continuous book-wide scale. If a different voice is selected, it uses another audio version, so restore familiar settings while checking your place.
Close extra sessions and reopen the book
After recording your reference point, close extra tabs and stop playback on the other device. With a working connection, reopen the same library entry through Books in the remaining session. Avoid simply starting an old tab because its previous display looks familiar.
Check the chapter that opens. If it differs from your intended place, recover the location through the chapter list and prepared audio. Then press Play in this player only. This removes simultaneous control without promising recovery of every previously heard second.
Check your handover between devices
Pause the current player before moving to another device. On the second device, reopen the book and check the chapter before continuing. Leaving the old window playing does not help establish a clear shared position.
If the discrepancy repeats with one player and a working connection, ask support to investigate. Describe the sequence, devices, and chapters before and after the handover. Mention any saved offline audio: local audio storage and the position in your profile are different things.
