Audiobook playing with no sound: what to check
If your audiobook appears to play but has no sound, first check whether its playback position advances. If it does, inspect media volume, browser tab muting, and the selected audio output. If the position stays still, the fragment may be preparing or the connection may need attention. Start by observing the player so you can choose the right check.
Watch the position, not just the button
Open the book and watch the elapsed time or position indicator. The button’s appearance alone does not establish that audio is actually playing. If the position advances, continue with sound settings. If it does not, look for preparation in progress or an error.
After importing a book, you must press Play to begin audio preparation. If you already pressed it and preparation is visible, turning up the volume will not shorten that wait. For example, the opening fragment may still be preparing, leaving nothing ready to play yet. Avoid repeated presses as a test.
Check media volume specifically
Set a moderate volume while attempting playback. Your device may have separate controls for calls, notifications, and media. Increasing ringtone volume does not confirm that book playback volume has changed. Check which volume control appears when you press the device’s physical buttons.
Also check whether system audio is muted. Do not immediately raise volume to its maximum: sound could return unexpectedly after you select the correct output. With headphones, start low and increase gradually while keeping the book page open for the test.
Inspect the browser tab
A browser can mute an individual tab or site independently of the device’s overall volume. Open the sound options available for that tab in your browser and confirm that audio is allowed. Labels differ between browsers, so look for an indication that the tab or site is muted.
For comparison, stop the book and play familiar audio in the same browser. If that audio is audible, return to TGRadio and check its tab separately. Successful playback on another site does not rule out muting on the book’s own page.
Find out where the sound is going
Open the system’s audio output selector. Sound may be routed to connected Bluetooth headphones, a speaker, or another available device. Check the selected output even if your headphones are in a bag: a connection does not necessarily end when you stop wearing them.
Select the intended output and test the book again at a moderate volume. To check the built-in speaker, you can temporarily disconnect Bluetooth headphones. If sound returns after switching, record that result. It points to output selection without establishing the condition of every audio component.
Compare results before clearing anything
Change one setting at a time: volume first, then tab sound, then output. Check the same fragment after each change. This gives you a specific observation to report rather than a collection of changes after which the behavior happened to become different.
If silence continues, note whether the position advances, whether other audio is audible, and which output is selected. Send those details to support with your browser or Mini App information. Avoid clearing storage as an initial test: doing so removes locally saved audio without explaining why playback was silent.
