How to turn a book in ZIP or EPUB into audio
To turn a book stored in ZIP into audio, extract the archive on your device and find a supported book file inside. An EPUB can normally be uploaded intact. EPUB uses a ZIP container, but an ordinary ZIP archive does not become an EPUB book simply because it contains text.
Check the full filename
Open the downloaded file’s details or enable filename extensions in your file manager. A cover image or application icon does not reliably identify the format. For example, novel.fb2.zip contains an FB2 file wrapped in a ZIP archive. Extract novel.fb2 before uploading it. If the filename ends in .epub, keep the original and try uploading that file directly.
Changing collection.zip to collection.epub only changes its name. It does not convert the text or create the structure an EPUB reader needs.
Extract the outer archive on your device
Use your phone or computer to extract the ZIP into a separate folder. This preparation happens outside TGRadio; the application should not be treated as a general archive extractor. If the folder contains several books, check their full filenames, then open the likely file in a suitable reading application to confirm its title and opening text.
For example, an archive might contain an EPUB, a cover image, and a short description. Select the EPUB for import. There is no need to upload the cover or package everything into another ZIP.
Keep a working EPUB intact
An EPUB contains linked text files and information that establishes their reading order. TGRadio reads the spine order and headings in the internal HTML. Extracting and uploading one HTML file can give you only part of the book. Finding many files inside an EPUB is normal and does not by itself indicate damage.
If a reading application cannot open the EPUB either, check the original download. Download another copy from a source you are entitled to use. Renaming a damaged file will not repair it.
Check the extracted file’s size
TGRadio accepts EPUB, FB2, TXT, and PDF with a text layer, with an upload limit of 10 MB per file. Check the extracted book’s size rather than the archive’s size. A small ZIP can contain a much larger FB2. There is also a limit of 2 million extracted characters per book.
If necessary, find another suitable edition or prepare separate parts using an external editor or converter. TGRadio has no built-in editor for splitting books. Check the text and reading order after any external conversion.
Check the imported book before listening
Open Books, choose Upload a book, and select the prepared file. Once import finishes, open the book and check that its contents match what you expected. Choose a voice and press Play to start preparing audio. Import extracts text; it does not automatically produce the entire audiobook.
If you imported a description instead of the book, return to the extracted folder and check your selection. If chapters are missing, compare the result with the source. The container format cannot restore text absent from the original.
