Books
Uploading a book again: when does it create a duplicate?
Uploading the same book file again in the same account is recognised by its file contents and should not create a separate duplicate. A changed file may create another version. Matching titles or similar text do not mean TGRadio will merge two library entries.
Look for the existing book first
Before uploading again, open Books and check your library. If you want to continue listening, open the existing entry first. Your position is saved in your profile, so resuming does not require another import. On another device, sign in with the same Telegram account.
If the book is missing, check that you are using the right profile. File matching applies within one account. Uploading into a different profile does not transfer your previous listening position or replace signing into the original account.
Distinguish a new name from a changed file
Repeat uploads are recognised using a fingerprint of the file’s contents. Renaming a file without changing its contents does not make it a new edition. For example, book.epub and book-for-phone.epub can still be the same file if only their names differ.
However, two EPUB files with identical chapters can differ in their internal metadata or packaging. Saving a book again in an external application can also change the file. Do not expect entries to merge because their titles, authors, or extracted text match.
Treat corrections as a separate version
If you correct mistakes or replace an edition, keep the original and revised files separately on your device. Editing happens outside TGRadio: there is no built-in text or pronunciation editor. After importing the revised file, check the particular passage you intended to fix.
For example, removing repeated page headers from the source text can produce a separate library entry. Do not assume it replaces the original. Do not rely on your position or prepared audio transferring between versions; open the version you want and check it.
Change the voice without uploading again
Use the existing book’s settings to choose another voice. A different voice or model requires a new audio version, but you do not need to upload the source text again. Changing playback speed does not require new speech generation. Neither action creates a corrected text edition.
If a reading problem comes from a mistake in the source, uploading the unchanged file will not fix it. Inspect the text in an external application first. Giving the file another name does not change the words sent for speech generation.
Keep useful details if a problem repeats
If one further import leaves the problem unresolved, record the exact message, file format and size, and whether you changed its contents. When contacting support, explain whether the existing book opened again or a separate entry appeared with a similar title.
Keep the entry containing your listening position until you have checked the intended version. Separate versions use library capacity: the technical limits are 30 books and 20 million characters in total. These storage limits are separate from free speech generation.
