Book import taking a long time: when to try again
If a book import is taking a long time, let the current attempt return a result and check whether the book has appeared in your library. Avoid uploading it in several tabs. Import extracts text; audio preparation starts separately when you open the book, choose a voice, and press Play.
Identify the unfinished stage
Return to the screen where you added the book and read the displayed message. If the book has not been added, the issue concerns text import. If it already opens but you have not pressed Play, waiting alone will not start speech generation. Start playback in the player.
You can listen once the first audio fragment is ready. Further fragments are prepared as you listen. The absence of audio for the whole book therefore does not establish that import is stuck.
Keep one attempt and check your connection
Avoid starting another upload while the current attempt still shows processing without a final result. The import queue, available resources, and file characteristics can affect processing time. Waiting time alone does not reveal the cause, and there is no exact completion time that applies to every book.
Check your internet connection. After reconnecting, inspect your library before sending the file again. For example, switching networks might prevent the screen from displaying a result even though the book has already been added.
Inspect the source file outside TGRadio
Open the source in a suitable application on your device. Supported formats are EPUB, FB2, TXT, and PDF with a text layer. Files must be no larger than 10 MB, with no more than 2 million extracted characters per book. Extract an outer ZIP archive before uploading.
For a PDF, try selecting and copying text from several pages. Scans without text and password-protected PDFs are unsuitable. Images and formulas are not recognised. More waiting will not recover text missing from the source.
Check whether linked content is publicly accessible
Open the source link without signing into its website. Link import works with publicly accessible files or HTML pages containing text. Pages requiring authentication or protected downloads may not import. Being able to read a page in your own account does not make it publicly accessible.
Check whether the desired text is on that single page. For example, a link to chapter one does not mean the importer will follow every chapter or pagination link. If available and permitted, try uploading a supported book file instead.
Retry once after addressing the cause
After an explicit error, address the cause you found and make one new attempt. If the previous outcome is unclear, check the library again first. Multiple simultaneous imports make it harder to establish which attempt finished and which source it used.
If the same problem returns, record the message, file format and size, import method, and source checks you performed. Share those details with support. Do not send your Telegram password or login credentials for the source website.
