A personal audiobook library: keeping books and versions organised

Organise your personal audiobook library before importing: check titles inside source files, distinguish editions and record what each version is for. TGRadio does not automatically publish private uploads. Your shared profile gives you access to your books after signing in, but it does not turn them into public catalogue entries or copy offline audio to every device.

Check the title inside the source file

Open the book in an ebook reader before uploading it. Check that its author and title are correct rather than an internal label or archive name. If the metadata needs correction, use an appropriate tool outside TGRadio, then reopen the file to check the result.

Renaming a file does not necessarily change the displayed book title, because that information may be stored inside the document. For example, “Novel_corrected.epub” may still contain the original title with no edition reference. Keep the original separately so you can compare changes.

Distinguish editions from working copies

For multiple translations or revisions, keep a separate note identifying each source. Include the author, title, translator and a short purpose such as complete edition, corrected text or test excerpt. This makes the source easier to choose before importing and recognise later.

First check whether another upload is necessary. Changing the voice requires another audio version, but does not itself require uploading the same text again. Changed content requires a revised source prepared outside the app. Keep those two reasons for a change separate.

Separate private uploads from the shared catalogue

You can add a book by file, public link or bot, or choose one from the shared catalogue. Your own upload remains private and is not automatically offered to other readers. A book appearing in your profile does not mean it has been published.

Use the same Telegram account in the browser and Mini App. If the book list looks unfamiliar, check which account you used before uploading everything again. Otherwise, similar copies may make the collection harder to understand.

Plan around the technical limits

A personal library supports up to 30 books and 20 million characters in total. Each file must be no larger than 10 MB, and the extracted text of one book must not exceed 2 million characters. These are separate limits: a small file can still contain too much text.

These limits are not a monthly narration allowance. Audio preparation and repeat listening are currently free, with no monthly character limit. If a limit message appears, check the file size, text length and library contents rather than waiting for a new month.

Track offline copies separately

In your own note, record which device holds the chapters you need. For example: “Phone: travel chapters; laptop: online access only.” This is a manual record, not built-in TGRadio folders or tags. It distinguishes a book in your account from audio actually saved locally.

Before travelling, open Offline library on the listening device and check the saved parts. Clearing browser storage or signing out removes local audio. Keep source files separately too, so the listening library is not your only copy of the text.
