Not enough space for an offline audiobook: what to delete
If you do not have enough space for an offline audiobook, check your device’s available storage and unnecessary local downloads first. A small book file does not mean small audio. Remove files selectively, then save the chapters you need in stages. Clearing all browser data also removes your existing offline audio.
Identify which action reached a limit
A failure when adding the source file and a failure when saving audio happen at different stages. Import limits are 10 MB per file and two million extracted characters per book. A personal library can hold up to 30 books and 20 million characters in total. These are technical library limits.
If the book is already imported and plays online, but offline saving fails, investigate local storage. Deleting text from your personal library should not be the first attempt to free phone storage. Establish what is taking up space before choosing what to remove.
Do not estimate audio size from an EPUB or TXT
The source file contains text and, depending on its format, other material. Prepared audio fragments contain sound, so their storage requirements cannot be inferred from the book file’s size. For example, a small TXT containing a long novel does not imply an equally small offline download.
Changing the source format is not a storage solution for existing audio. Importing the same text in another format does not itself shrink prepared fragments. Playback speed is not a compression setting either, and changing it does not require another audio version.
Choose downloads you no longer need
Open your device’s storage settings and review the categories using space. Start with files you recognise: watched videos, old downloads and duplicates that can be removed through the device’s normal controls. Check that a file is not your only copy of an important document before deleting it.
If another app provides selective removal of downloaded material, remove items you will not need during the trip. Do not assume that deleting one small file fixed the issue. Check available space again, then retry saving a single chapter.
Avoid clearing TGRadio data indiscriminately
Clearing browser storage and signing out remove TGRadio’s local audio. Clearing site data therefore does not selectively remove a few unwanted chapters. Before using that action, account for the fact that required saved sections will also need to be obtained again.
Check the scope of any removal control: does it affect a local download, a book in your profile, or all site data? If its purpose is unclear, make room by removing other known files. Do not delete a library book merely to test a guess about storage.
Save a smaller section first
After freeing space, start with Save chapter offline. For example, save the next chapter for your journey, then add another instead of attempting the whole long book at once. While connected, the button generates missing fragments, downloads them and stores them locally. Wait for saving to finish.
Allow saving to finish, disconnect and test the chapter. Add further required sections afterwards. If saving repeatedly stops despite available storage, note your device, browser and the point of failure for support. Available space alone does not explain every interrupted download.
