How to Listen to a Narrated Book Without Internet
To listen to a book in TGRadio without internet, save the finished audio inside the app beforehand. During your trip, open the offline library on the same device. Only prepared and saved sections will be available: having a book in your profile does not mean the entire book is ready for offline listening.
Choose the chapters for your trip
Decide how much of the book you want to take with you. For example, you could prepare the next few chapters for a journey. This gives you a specific section to check before leaving, rather than relying on the whole novel being available.
Book narration is currently free, with no monthly character limit. Prepare the chapters you need before travelling: generating and downloading audio require an internet connection.
Importing a book does not create audio by itself. Save chapter offline and Save book offline prepare any missing audio and store it on your device; you do not need to play every section beforehand. Wait until saving completes successfully.
Prepare and save the audio while connected
Use the device you will take on your trip. If the book is not in your library yet, add it after signing in. Importing books and creating new audio sections require an internet connection.
Choose your voice and model before preparing the chapters. Changing the voice or model requires preparing and saving that audio again. You can change playback speed without generating new narration.
- Sign in to TGRadio on the device you will take with you and open the book.
- Choose a voice and model, then select Save chapter offline or Save book offline.
- Wait for successful completion: the app prepares missing audio and saves it on your device.
Test the offline library before you leave
Online listening can begin as soon as the first audio section is ready. For a trip, later sections also need to be prepared and saved on your device.
Testing without a connection helps you spot missing chapters while you can still get online. Check the parts you expect to reach during your journey, rather than testing only the beginning.
- Open TGRadio’s offline library on the device where you saved the audio.
- Turn off Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Open the book and test playback of the saved chapters.
- If a section is unavailable, reconnect to the internet and prepare or save it.
Keep profile progress separate from saved audio
Your listening position is saved in your profile. To continue on another device, sign in with the same Telegram account. Your shared profile does not transfer locally saved audio between devices.
If you prepared a book on your computer but plan to listen on your phone, save and test the chapters on your phone before leaving. Offline saving is intended for listening inside the app; do not plan on exporting MP3 files.
Keep your local audio available during the trip
Signing out or clearing browser storage removes locally saved audio. While you need the book for your journey, stay signed in and keep the stored data in the browser you used to save it.
If a saved chapter ends and the next section was never prepared or downloaded to your device, you cannot continue without internet. Connect to prepare and save the next sections. Before travelling, check the full section of the book you intend to hear.
