How to stop an audiobook download and check saved chapters
To stop an audiobook download for offline listening, select Stop download. Fragments already saved locally remain available. Afterwards, check which sections actually play without a connection: audio that is ready to play and audio stored on your device are not always the same thing.
Use the saving control to stop
If you no longer want the current download to continue, use Stop download. Avoid substituting sign-out or browser cleanup for that control. Those actions remove local audio and are unsuitable when you want to keep the sections already obtained.
For example, before leaving home you might stop a large download and check whether the saved chapters cover your journey. Pressing the button does not establish that the last chapter is complete. Treat the available amount as confirmed only after testing it.
Separate prepared audio from saved audio
A prepared fragment can be played, but it must be saved locally in advance for offline use. Hearing it while connected does not prove that an offline copy exists. After stopping, some audio available online may not be included among completed local downloads.
Stopping saving keeps fragments already saved, but stops further preparation and downloading within that action. Import extracts the book’s text, Play prepares audio for online listening, and the offline saving buttons also generate missing fragments and store them locally. Do not expect the entire remaining book to prepare automatically after stopping.
Find the boundary of playable content
Open the Offline library on the same device and in the same browser or Mini App. Disable Wi-Fi and mobile data. Start a chapter you believe was saved, then check a point towards its end and the next chapter you need.
For example, if you stopped saving during chapter four, a playable opening does not establish that the whole chapter is available. Note how far you have verified playback. If you need a continuous section for travelling, test the transition between adjacent chapters too.
Save the missing sections again
Reconnect and open the required chapter. Use Save chapter offline for a particular chapter, or Save book offline for the whole book. The buttons generate missing fragments, download them and store them locally. After an interruption, start the required saving action again and allow it to finish without an error or cancellation.
Do not assume a guaranteed restart at the exact stopping point; judge the result through another offline check. Keep the original voice if you want to use the version already saved. A voice change requires new audio, while changing playback speed does not require speech generation again.
Investigate downloads that stop on their own
An unexpected interruption needs a separate check from stopping with the button. Review your connection and available device storage, then retry saving one required chapter. This tests a specific smaller section instead of repeatedly starting the entire book without a clear result.
If the interruption repeats, note the device, browser, chapter and action immediately before it stopped. Tell support whether you pressed Stop download yourself. Keep storage intact while investigating if it still contains useful fragments that you have checked offline.
