How to remove page numbers from PDF read-aloud

If PDF read-aloud includes page numbers, check whether those numbers are present in the extracted text. Remove them from a separate copy outside TGRadio, which has no built-in text editor. Delete only confirmed page labels so that dates, amounts, exercise numbers, and references remain intact.

Match the spoken number to a page boundary

Open the original PDF in a reader and locate the passage where you heard an unexpected number. Check the top and bottom margins, then inspect the next page. For example, “forty-one,” “forty-two,” and “forty-three” interrupting sentences may match the printed page labels. Check several transitions before deciding: a single number could belong to the paragraph, a caption, or a numbered exercise.

Inspect the copied text

Copy two adjacent pages into a separate document, or extract their text with a program available to you. This preparation happens outside TGRadio. Look for the page number on its own line, after the final word, or before the next paragraph. Its visual position in the PDF does not guarantee the same position in extracted text. If it has joined a sentence, deleting an entire line could remove useful words.

Use a pattern you have checked

Edit a copy and keep the original for comparison. For a short document, manually removing confirmed page labels may be simplest. For a longer one, use your text editor’s search and review each match before replacing it. For example, a line containing “128” could be a page label, an exercise answer, or a table value. Avoid deleting every number or every digits-only line throughout the document.

Protect meaningful numbers and references

Check years, decimal values, ranges, chapter numbers, and references such as “see page 128.” That reference may remain useful even after printed page labels are removed from the listening copy. Read the sentences on both sides of an edit to make sure they still connect. If the book uses numbered notes, also check that removing a page label has not detached a note from its reference.

Listen to the prepared version

Save the cleaned text as TXT with a name that distinguishes it from the original. In TGRadio, open Books, choose Upload a book, and add the prepared file. Select the book and a voice, then press Play to begin preparing audio. Importing alone does not start speech generation. Listen to a passage that previously included page numbers and check the surrounding sentences.

Review later transitions as you listen, too. Further fragments are prepared during listening, so a clean opening does not establish that the whole file is correct. If another page-number format remains, fix that specific pattern in your external text copy. Changing the voice will not remove numbers still present in the text.
