Narrating different manuscript versions without mixing them up
To keep different manuscript versions separate during narration, label the revision in both the filename and the text before uploading. Use a short sentence from a changed passage to verify it. TGRadio does not compare versions automatically, so keep your revision history and change notes outside the application.
Choose a revision label that is easy to recognize
Use one numbering system across your working files. For example, “Northern Bridge, revision 07” is clearer than several documents called “final,” “new final” and “latest.” The number identifies a particular saved version rather than expressing how close you think it is to completion.
Also place the revision in the ebook’s internal title or a short opening line. The displayed title may depend on the format’s contents, so the filename alone is not a sufficient check. Make sure the labels agree before uploading.
Pick a check sentence from an edited passage
Choose a short sentence that differs from the previous revision. Keep it in an external note alongside the chapter name. A sentence from the manuscript itself works well because it identifies the version while checking an actual edit.
For example, a character might leave in the morning in the earlier version and in the evening in the new one. A note saying “chapter three, evening departure” gives you a clear listening reference. Do not rely solely on an unchanged introduction: opening pages may remain identical across many revisions.
Import the saved file for that revision
Before importing, open the selected file outside TGRadio and confirm that your latest edits were saved. Then open Books, choose Upload a book and select that file. If importing a link, first check that the publicly available text has already been updated.
Editing a local document after uploading does not update the previously imported book. A new revision requires a new import. Keep your source files separately: the personal library supports listening to prepared versions, but it does not replace a revision history or an archive of working documents.
Verify the revision before an extended listen
Open the imported book, select a voice and press Play. Check the revision label and the identifying passage in the relevant part. Audio preparation begins after playback starts; a book appearing in the library does not mean the entire manuscript has already been narrated.
When comparing wording, keep the same voice and speed so changes in delivery do not distract from the words. The application does not display an automatic list of edits. Record the result of your check in your own notes beside the revision number.
Keep revision records separate from local audio
Record outside the application which revision you checked and which comments apply to it. The listening position in an older book does not establish that you have reviewed the new revision to the same point. Do not assume that positions transfer automatically between separately imported versions.
For offline review, save prepared sections of the intended revision separately. Old local audio does not become a new recording when the source changes. The library has a technical limit of 30 books, so retain intermediate versions elsewhere too. Before removing an unwanted revision, keep its source file and related notes in your own archive.
