Read MOBI, DOCX, or DJVU aloud: prepare a supported file
To read MOBI, DOCX, or DJVU aloud in TGRadio, first obtain a supported file: EPUB, FB2, TXT, or PDF with a text layer. These three source formats cannot be imported directly. Preparation takes place outside TGRadio, and the appropriate route depends on whether the original contains text or only page images.
Check the document’s actual format
Look at the complete filename and file properties on your device. If extensions are hidden, enable their display using your system’s settings. Renaming MOBI to EPUB or DOCX to TXT does not change the document’s internal structure or make it suitable for import.
Keep the original separately and work with a copy. Use a book you have the right to use. If the source offers an existing edition in a supported format, consider that first: it may avoid errors introduced by converting the document yourself.
For MOBI, obtain a suitable text edition
Check whether the source provides EPUB or FB2. If neither is available, an external program that can read your MOBI file may be able to save a supported format. Conversion is not guaranteed for every file, particularly where protection restricts access.
Do not attempt to bypass protection. After an authorised conversion, open the result in a reader and inspect the contents list and chapter boundaries. For example, if chapter titles have become ordinary lines embedded in paragraphs, correct the structure in an external editor or choose another edition.
For DOCX, choose how to save the text
Open the DOCX in a compatible word processor. For a simple work, you can save a copy as TXT; if page layout matters, consider a PDF with a text layer. These are operations in the external editor, rather than TGRadio features.
Inspect the exported result: tables, footnotes, and text boxes can produce an awkward reading order. For example, an illustration caption may appear inside a sentence. In TXT files, TGRadio recognises separate heading lines using Глава, Часть, Chapter, or Part followed by a number or title; check that those lines survive.
For DJVU, check whether text exists
A DJVU document may contain page images, recognised text, or both. Try selecting and copying several sentences in a compatible viewer. If you get only an image or a jumble of characters, saving into another file format alone will not solve the problem.
Scans require recognition in an external program or an existing text edition. TGRadio has no OCR. After external recognition, correct obvious errors such as confused letters, broken words, and incorrect column order. Images and formulas do not automatically become explanations suitable for narration.
Inspect the prepared copy before starting audio
Open the resulting EPUB, FB2, TXT, or text-based PDF and compare several passages with the original. Check the opening, a chapter transition, and the final paragraph. The file must be no larger than 10 MB, with no more than 2 million extracted characters per book.
Use Upload a book to add the checked document, wait for processing, then choose a voice and press Play. Listen to the opening: changing voices will not fix errors in the underlying text. TGRadio has no built-in text or pronunciation editor, so make corrections outside the app and upload the prepared copy.
