Audiobook seeking: how to replay an unclear phrase

To replay an unclear phrase, pause the book and move slightly backwards within prepared audio. Start with the preceding sentence so you can hear the context. Seeking within an audiobook and selecting another chapter serve different purposes. For a single line, stay in the current chapter first and check where the passage falls.

Pause while you remember the passage

Pause as soon as you notice an unclear phrase. Note the chapter title and the available position indicator. The longer playback continues, the more material you will need to check when returning. A short replay does not require closing the book, refreshing the page, or importing the file again.

Remember a few words that came before the difficult sentence. For example, a question before a long reply can serve as a useful landmark. Look for the start of that question rather than an isolated unfamiliar word.

Move within prepared audio

Use the player's position control to move back a little, then press Play. If you hear a familiar sentence, let it finish and check the next one. Several small adjustments are easier to follow than one large jump to an uncertain location.

Use the content as your guide rather than relying only on a number of seconds. Sentence lengths and pauses vary, so there is no universal distance that will replay exactly one thought. If you went too far back, move closer within the same prepared audio.

Check whether you crossed a fragment boundary

A long chapter can contain several audio fragments. If the phrase occurred before the current fragment began, moving within that fragment will not reach it. Check what is currently playing and whether the sentence belongs to the available portion.

Do not treat the previous chapter control as a small rewind button. It changes the book section and may take you much further back. If you cannot recover the phrase within the current portion, select the relevant chapter again and locate the passage by listening for familiar content.

Try a different speed with the same voice

You can lower playback speed for the repeat. The available settings are 1, 1.15, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, and 2. For example, if you were listening at 1.5, try the passage at 1.15 or 1. Choose what feels comfortable rather than treating a particular speed as a comprehension rule.

Changing playback speed does not require new speech generation. Changing the voice or model requires a different audio version, so keep the current voice while checking a single line. Restore your earlier speed afterwards if it suits the remaining text.

Check the source if the wording still seems wrong

If replaying does not help, inspect the phrase in the original book outside TGRadio. An abbreviation, unfamiliar name, missing punctuation mark, or source-text error may explain it. Changing the file format alone will not correct the wording.

TGRadio has no built-in text, pronunciation, or SSML editor. Prepare any necessary correction in an external editor, then decide whether importing a revised book is worthwhile. For one missed sentence, first try replaying it together with the surrounding sentences.
